From 21st to 24th November 2023 the 10th SR2A - International Conference on Synchrotron Radiation and Neutrons in Art and Archaeology was held in Munich. Our laboratory presented two contributions: the first on the use of the XRF technique in the study of thicknesses of layers of materials of historical and artistic interest (authors: Prof. Anna Galli (Lambda), Dr. Jacopo Orsilli (Lambda), Giuliana Aquilanti (Elettra - Synchrotron Trieste and SILS); the second on the use of the XANES technique (X-ray absorption near edge structure) in the characterization of iron-gallic inks, which won the award for the second-best poster (authors: Mrs. Ermioni Vassiou (Department of Conservation of Antiquities and Works of Art, University of West Attica; Institute of Nuclear and Particle Physics, National Centre for Scientific Research 'Demokritos'), Dr. Jacopo Orsilli (Lambda), Dr. Andreas Karydas (Institute of Nuclear and Particle Physics, National Centre for Scientific Research 'Demokritos'), prof.
