About us

The Archaeometry Laboratory at the University of Milano-Bicocca was established in 1998. The staff works in the Cultural Heritage field since 40 years, with know-how that covers many archaeometry topics, in particular thermoluminescence and optically stimulated luminescence dating (ceramic materials). Through the years the group started new research lines to improve the research areas covered, like radiocarbon dating and dendrochronology, but also characterization techniques such as XRF, Raman and 3D reconstruction. During the last years, the group was involved in many projects for Cultural Heritage valorization and conservation and is an active member of international groups collaborating to solve many interesting challenges (rehydroxylation dating, mortar dating).
