The Lambda Laboratory took part in the 2025 National Congress of the Italian Physical Society (SIF) (official website), contributing significantly to the field of applied physics for cultural heritage.
One of the most prestigious moments was the awarding of the Fermi Prize to Prof. Marco Martini, honored “for a new approach to chronological analysis through thermoluminescence spectroscopy applied to archaeology.” This recognition celebrates decades of pioneering research and the strong connection between scientific innovation and the study of historical heritage.
The congress also featured presentations by our researchers on highly topical subjects:
Dr. Simone Caglio – “Insights into hyperspectral data and machine learning for the study of pigment materials”
Dr. Jacopo Orsilli – “Spot the light: synchrotron radiation X-ray luminescence analysis of CdS1−xSex pigments”
Dr. Laura Panzeri – “Challenges in ceramic authentication: the threat of artificial irradiation”
Dr. Francesco Maspero – “Characterization of water fractions in ceramics for accurate RHX dating”
The participation of the Lambda group in the 2025 SIF Congress represented an important opportunity for discussion and scientific growth, helping to strengthen the international visibility of the research carried out.
